• CX/GL- Rally is named "Güllepumpen-Treffen" because Güllepumpe ("cow shit pump") is a nickname for the Honda motorbikes of CX/GL-Type in Germany. The term has been popularized by the comic character "Werner". Vechta is the town where the meeting is located.
  
• The rally takes place at the campground of "Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend" (Confederation of Catholic Youth in Germany). We are greatful that they have been our hosts for many years. The location is excellent, sanitary facilities, shower, well-groomed lawn, etc. So we ask that you ensure you show respect and have good manners.
  
• CX-rally proceed friday to sunday. Please respect the location is not free before friday. Area may be used before as a hostel on school trip or there are youth groups or a church choir. Some years ago we have had lamentation because some guys sat at the fire drunk beer in the evening of thursday. If you want to stay here before friday feel free to visit a hotel or the campsite in the village Goldenstedt nearby.
  
• Attendance on your own risk. We assume no liability of loss ocurred.
• Sign up for the CX-rally by the registration form. Please note that booking a dormitory bed needs previous explicit consent. First call Winfried! (look here)
  

• To be a guest means that the guidelines in accordance with the 'house rules' shall be observed. For example to treat the lawn with care. So we do not park the motorbikes side by side to our tents but on a special CX park area. It is impressive and spectacular to see 200 or more CX together!

• Throwaway dishes are not accepted. Please bring in a mug, dish etc. In case of necissity (...your mother did not box your dishes...) we will lend something to you.

• The Vechta CX-Rally is family-oriented, no problem to take your children with you. Some of them  year after year appear with their parents. Maybe someday they will visit Vechta with their own Motorbike. Sorry, you couldn't find any hard liquor here, only beer and wine. We do not sell beer to the kids. Please never order a child to buy it for you. Needless to say, there are no strip shows  etc...

• Instead of that we meet for chat, enjoy ourselves and have a good time while we look for hints and tips of the CX maintenance and exchange wide experiences.  You can make some trips in the beautiful landscape of northern Germany. Please ask for touring hints at the reception counter.  Finally on saturday we do a collective motorbike parade - have fun!

• In the evening lets get together at the fireplace. On friday night we will have live music  on stage. We had tried different styles. Some years ago we have had a folk music band named "Lütt Matten" (Scottish/Irish Folk). Actually we prefer classic rock music like Rolling Stones, Deep Purple etc. No idea, which guys will entertain you this year ...
  
• In our opinion on saturday evening people want to bow out earlier (concerning the next day return trip), so there will be some smooth unplugged music near the fire. (if things work out!)
  

"Big Matten"

• Every year we nominate one of the CX's or GL's as the "Pumpe des Jahres" (means: CX/GL-Bike Of The Year).  It will be a special CX or GL, that will attract many attention but maybe it will not meet everybodys approval. So there is agitated dicussion every year.
  

"Die Pumpe 2001"

• Saturday and sunday morning you will get free continental buffet breakfast. The whole day you can buy coffee (cake in the afternoon), soft drinks, german beer and some red or white wine.  At the area you will find a chip shop that offers chips, homefries, kraut-salad, pork chop, bratwurst, gyros, currywurst, soup etc. We don't maintain the chippy,  we let the professionals do this. So you are better off - believe me! We get no participation in sales and we don't determinate prices, but the staff do a good job, most of our guests enjoyed the food. 
  

• Accomodation is  - like most of motorbike rallies  - with your own tent and sleeping bag. The site has to offer sufficient space if people move together somewhat.  If you like to sleep well in the early evening, don't put up your tent close to the fire, the stage or the beer stall.....

• On the campsite there are buildings with dorm rooms (3 to 6 beds) available in limited quantity. You can make a reservation only for both nights and have to prepay, otherwise we aren't able to arrange it well. Dorm rooms are youth hostel standard. Bed linen including, but no sleeping bags allowed.
  Houses 1 and 2 mostly offer 6-bed dorms. Bathroom down the corridor, not in the dorm room. In the newer house no. 3   (built in 2004) there are some 3-bed dorms with included bathroom. Price is a little bit higher there.

1. You are requested to speak German. If you don't, please sent an email to webmaster@guellepumpe.de to give us your wishes.You will receive answer as soon as possible.
   
2. Call  Winfried Mandel (Tel. +4901724374527) to indicate how many beds you may desire. He will tell you, what type of beds are available at the moment. (Sorry, they are in great demand!)
   
3. Transfer the amount as soon as possible after Winfried gave you the mutual consent at the phone.
   Think about: "no money, no honey" . If we don't receive the payment, we will deal out the beds second time.
4. Online reservation form: After that, please fill in the reservation form here. This is needed for better organization of the event.
5. Booking confirmation:  We will send a mail confirmation after we have received the money. Now the booking is fixed.
6. Arriving at Vechta please present your booking confirmation at the reception counter. Leave your tent and sleeping bag at home confidently.

We would recommend to book beds as soon as possible, because they are available in limited quantity. But not before we invited via our newletter. Maybe there are different regulations  we have to tell you first.

Do not make the payment transfer until you got mutual consent by Wilfried.  (That's because we could not allocate the money to the bed, so we don't know which bed is disposable.....We have had problems in this matter a few years ago. Please dont miss thast succession.)

• Area opens friday noon.
  The Lower Saxony district town Vechta is located in the middle between Osnabrück and Bremen.
  
• On motorway "A1" take exit (64) "Vechta". First follow the direction "Vechta", then take the by-passing "B 69" in south direction "Diepholz". On a long-distance right turn of the road you have to turn left (last exit Vechta) and follow the street 500m. Then turn right in the street "Moorkamp".You will find the area left hand.
